Alter Ego Canberra | Linear Wood Beam LED
RBD Projects, AYG Projects and Architect Maria Filardo have come together with cafe owner Arthur Choi to create the impeccable Alter Ego in Canberra.
With a collection of venues already under his belt including Coffee Lab, The Coffee Grounds, Next Door and Morning Dew, owner, Arthur Choi, approached us in 2018. He was looking to use a range of our wood beam linear LED lights along with some industrial brackets and hardware in his upcoming venture - Alter Ego.
Four of our remote-controlled Timber Beam LED Pendant Lights were installed into the venue which complements the re-milled clean dressed Blackbutt on all of the benchtops, tables and cladding. Thor's hammer provided the beautiful woodwork for the venue, which seamlessly combines refined, sophisticated and industrial elements.
The rough sawn benchtops have been planed back there are still a number of nail holes and features that have been highlighted with black resin. This acts as a great compliment to the antiqued look of our No.1 beam light which all have areas of distress that are pulled out and featured with a dark stain. The thoughtful composition of materials and fittings have blended into a beautiful venue that's a credit to everyone involved in bringing it to life.
Alter Ego is an all-day venue offering something for everyone, whether it’s an intimate date, a casual evening meal or a high-end private dining experience. They serve ONA Coffee and have an extensive range of alcohol, including locally manufactured beer, wine and spirits.
