Bolex Paillard Super 8 Movie Titler Desk Lamp
Bolex Paillard Super 8 Movie Titler Desk Lamp
The Bolex Paillard Super 8 Movie Titler was introduced in 1955 for pocket-size cameras. In order to provide accurate framing, a unique D mount device was designed to project a circle of light through the lens onto the titling board. The basic titler consisted of the titling board, a field frame and centring card, support stand, camera base, and a precision centring mechanism with a 4V lamp and wire. Alligator clamps were provided to attach to a battery.
A full accessory kit could be purchased which included two adjustable lamps, horizontal and vertical "Flip Flap" boards, drum, disc, scroll title device and 10" extension legs; all effect devices, apart from the scroll, were covered with black velvet.
We have rewired this perfect example with a burgundy twisted cable which matches the Bolex logo, and have installed two new brass lamp holders - making all of the electrical components compliant with today's standards.
This would be perfect for use on a drawing or drafting table, as a decorative feature lamp or in any photography or film studio. Find out more about this, and some of the other vintage photography components we have sourced here. For more info on all things Bolex - check out the Bolex Collector website.
